David hit me up a few weeks back and sent this track over to me as it contained a little sample from a conversation of his friend mentioning the Tim Reaper release on Skeleton.
I asked him what his plans are with it and he suggested that maybe I would like to use it as a free download for the label.
As I have been following Davids productions for a short time now, I jumped at the chance to take it to give some of our fans a little something back as a way to say thank you for the support.
Now a few words from David...
The term "ruff with the smooth" has been my mantra while writing tunes for the past while and I try to fuse the future-tech style that I'm into these days with the niceness and break-heavy elements of the old school sound.
This project had sat on my machine for quite a while without a second drop and no aim for the breakdown. Myself and very good friend of mine were catching up over a phone call and when he started rattling off all of his recent vinyl purchases, so I figured I'd go stealth mode and grab a recording of it for a bit of fun.
When I realized that I had this sample just sitting on my phone I literally jumped over to the computer and started fitting it into the breakdown. Everything fit really nicely and from there I was able to roll it out with ease
I couldn't be happier that it's found a home at Skeleton Recordings and I'm honoured to be associated with the label!
Upcoming, I am working with a few friends here in Toronto (Stranjah, Groves and Captivate) on a very special project (#vortexiscoming) so keep your eyes peeled for that, you definitely heard it here first! I should also have an EP dropping later this year on Ronin Ordinance. Other than that, I'd just like to say quick shouts out to Ricky and Ben at Repertoire for believing in me and pushing my sound, and of course Monita at Skeleton for getting this tune out and making me feel welcome about the whole thing!
